64forSuu.org Launched today – Send your messages to Aung San Suu Kyi now

Today we launched 64forSuu.org, a groundbreaking site created so that you can send your message of support for Burma’s democracy leader,Aung San Suu Kyi.

The website already has dozens of statements from celebrities, politicians and members of the public. We’re aiming to bring together thousands of people from every corner of the world to call for the release of Aung San Suu Kyi and all of Burma’s political prisoners by Suu Kyi’s birthday on June 19th 2009.

Already we’ve seen phenomenal support from celebrities, politicians and the public. Go to the
Gallery and have a look around, you’ll see 64’s from Brad Pitt, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, the General Secretary, International Trade Union Confederation, Guy Ryder, and dozens of other entries:

We’d like to thank the following organisations for making this site possible:
Burma Campaign UK, Amnesty International,Christian Solidarity Worldwide,Open Society Institute, Avaaz, the Trade Union Congress ,English Pen, Human Rights Watch and Not On Our Watch

Finally I’d like to thank the team that made 64forSuu.org possible. We created the site in just 6 days, it would not have been possible without
Rechord, who designed and built the site or Catalyst 2, who generously providing hosting for the website at very short notice.

Please now explore the site and show your support for Aung San Suu Kyi by
adding your 64 now.
